What it is

Canva Craft, launched Oct 22, 2026, is Canva's first image model built in-house.

What it does

Craft plans the layout first, then renders the image. It makes images up to 2K resolution in more than 30 aspect ratios, and can write text inside images in 55 languages.

How it ranks

On the DesignArena image leaderboard, Craft ranked #4, which made Canva the #2 lab.

Where to use it

It's available in Canva's Dream Lab, and to developers through Canva's API (model craft_v1_2k).

What we don't know yet

Leaderboards move fast, so rankings may change. Canva hasn't published full technical details.
