What's new
Google Play now lets you install Android apps you build yourself with AI. You make the app in Google AI Studio, then install it privately on your phone from your Play personal library. It's for your own use: there's no public store listing.
How it works
In Google AI Studio you choose to build an Android app and describe what you want. When you're happy with it, you publish it to your personal library and scan a QR code to install it. You don't need a Google Play developer account, only your Google account.
Who can use it
It's rolling out in the US to people 18 and older. Your phone needs Play Store version 53.5 or later.
What we don't know yet
Google says sharing these apps with friends and family is coming in the coming months, with no date yet. It hasn't said whether the feature will come to other countries.
