Meta's free AI just ordered a stroller
Meta's Muse is an assistant you text like a friend. It handles email, bills, bookings and shopping, and asks before it buys.

What it is
Muse is a free AI assistant from Meta. You text it like a friend, and it does the job: email, bills, bookings and shopping. In Meta's demo it found a stroller and placed the order.
Why it matters
Most chatbots answer questions. Muse is built to finish tasks. Think of a personal assistant who lives in your phone. Before it sends or buys anything, it asks you first.
How to try it
Meta says Muse is free for most things. It launched in the US in September, came to iPad this month, and is now rolling out in Japan. Meta's announcement below has the details.
