Robot dogs just raced up Mount Tai. Nearly 90 robot teams entered the climbing challenge on November 2, 2026, in Tai'an, Shandong.
The route
About 3.9 km, more than 3,100 stone steps and roughly 600 m of climbing. People usually take one and a half to two hours.
The result
Unitree's Beijing Lingyi team won the robot dog race with an official time of 43 minutes 41 seconds. Other robots hauled cargo up the steps. Humanoid robots were much slower, with handlers walking right beside them.
Caveats
The footage doesn't show how much remote control or human help each team used, so we don't call any run autonomous. Footage: CGTN / CMG and mihu explore, credited and linked below.
