What Walmart announced
Walmart announced Agent Profiles on Oct 21, 2026. They let an AI agent shop at Walmart on your behalf, and they're coming next month (November).
Controls
You can require approval for every purchase or set a spending limit, and you can remove an agent's access at any time.
For developers
Agent makers can apply to the Walmart Agent Gateway, an invite-only beta.
Why it matters
It's the opposite approach to Amazon, which blocks outside AI agents from shopping its store, as TechCrunch noted.
What we don't know yet
Walmart hasn't named which agents will work at launch or the exact November date.
